Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actor and musician who started her career through smart raps that addressed sexuality and racial identities with a boldly comic perspective. Her career then grew into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was through the instrument of trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop studies began when she was just a teenager. In her studies, she majored in journalism and women's studies in college even studying Mandarin in Beijing for a time. However, it wasn't until she graduated when she decided to turn her attention to music. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an online hit, and it was featured in her debut LP Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hit tracks including body positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$. The single that debuted was specifically linked to Awkwafinas NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. Apart from having published a book as well, she also worked as a singer. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors to Storks. In the year 2018 she scored several major roles like Dude Ocean's 8, or Crazy Rich Asians. That June she issued the EP in Fina We Trust.
