The game of golf, unlike other ball games, does not and doesn't have a standardized playing area, and coping with the varied conditions encountered on various courses is a key part of playing. Courses typically comprise nine or 18 holes, areas of terrain that include a cup, which is which is the hole that holds the ball. Every hole on a golf course contains a teeing ground to begin with, and putt greens that contain the cup. There are several types of terrain between the green and the tee, including the fairway, rough (high grass) and additional hazards like the bunters filled with sand. Each hole of a course is distinctive in its own layout.Golf is played for the lowest amount of strokes played by an individual called stroke play, or the lowest score on all holes in a round by an individual or team, known as match play. The stroke play format is the most frequently played form at all levels, especially at the top levels.
